Questions parents ask us.
Can I come with a newborn?
Yes. As soon as leaving the house feels possible, you are welcome. Tiny babies mostly feed and sleep through the session, and that is exactly as it should be. Plenty of mums come in the first few weeks precisely because it is somewhere soft to land.
What if my baby cries, feeds, or sleeps the whole time?
Then your baby is doing what babies do. Feed whenever and however you like, let them nap, walk a crying baby by the window. Nobody minds and nobody is watching. The session is built around real babies, not ideal ones.
Do I have to do anything?
No. There is no circle you must join and nothing you have to perform. Some weeks you will want to join in everything, and some weeks you will want to sit with a warm drink and talk to another adult. Both count.
What ages are the sessions for?
Baby sessions suit newborns up to around twelve months. The toddler session is for little ones who are on the move, roughly one to two and a half. If your child sits between the two, come to whichever feels right and we will help you settle.
Where are the sessions, and is there parking?
Fridays are at Wigginton Old School on Mill Lane, Wigginton, York, YO32 2PU. Tuesdays are at MOVA Studio in Acomb. There is parking near both venues, and Wigginton Old School has level access for prams and somewhere to change a nappy.
How much does it cost?
Sessions are £12, booked in blocks. Your first session is £6 with the code First.
Do I need to book, or can I just turn up?
Booking takes about a minute online and guarantees your place. The groups are kept small, and they do fill.
Is it just for mums?
Mums are the heart of romoma, and dads, grandparents, and anyone else caring for a little one are welcome. If you look after the baby, the coffee is for you too.
What should I bring?
Yourself and your little one. Everything else, including the coffee and something good to eat, is already there.
