A quiet, unhurried hour with your baby on a Tuesday morning.

Baby yoga at romoma is a soft, slow way to spend time with your little one. There is nothing to be good at and nothing to keep up with. Just gentle movement, familiar songs, and unhurried time together.

Whatever kind of morning you have had, there is a place here for you. If your baby needs feeding, a cuddle, a nappy change or a little cry along the way, that is welcome too. You will never be the only one.

Come as you are, and join in as much or as little as feels right. You do not need to be flexible or sporty, or to have done yoga before. You just need you and your baby.

Why baby yoga

When a mother feels relaxed and held, so does her baby. That is where we begin. Gentle movement and touch can soothe and settle your little one. Many mums find the calming holds help ease wind and tummy discomfort, and that a session leaves their baby more restful and ready to sleep.

As babies grow, the supported stretches and playful movement help them find their bodies and their confidence, while the songs, the eye contact and the closeness feed their busy little world.

And it is not only for baby. This is an hour that belongs to you too. A moment to breathe, to move a little, to feel surer of yourself, and to sit beside other mums who understand the season you are in. The community can matter as much as the yoga.

What a Tuesday looks like

The room is already warm and the mats are already down. There is no rush. We begin softly, following your baby’s mood rather than a fixed routine. Gentle stretches and familiar songs, calming holds that many mums find helpful for settling, and time for tummy time and play as your little one grows.

We finish with a little relaxation, a breath for your baby and hopefully one for you. Then the kettle goes on. Herbal tea from Hebden to round things off, and time to stay and chat for as long as you like. Nobody has to leave until they are ready.

Is my baby the right age?

This is a gentle class for babies from around eight weeks up to confident crawling, and we meet your baby wherever they are.

In the early weeks, from around eight to twenty weeks, once you have had your postnatal check and you both feel ready, sessions are very gentle and calming. Lots of holding, soft movement and soothing touch, for those first weeks of getting to know one another.

From around twenty weeks until your baby is crawling and on the move, sessions grow a little more playful. More supported movement, more songs to join in with, and space to explore as they get ready for what comes next. If you are not sure whether it is the right time, just ask. I am always happy to help you decide.

The details
